Paradise Village Golf Course
"El Tigre"
Designed by Robert Von Hagge, with special features like 5 to 6 tees per
hole and extra wide fairways.
This course has been lightheartedly described as "one of the most
challenging in Mexico," yet the overall the course is considered
forgiving by even novice golfers. "Creating the most exciting championship
18 hole golf course in Mexico" was the challenge given to the team
of Von Hagge, Smelek and Baril. The result, a 7,239 yard masterpiece.
Flamingos Golf Course
This established golf course in Puerto Vallarta continues to be a popular
choice.
This well groomed 6,982 yard course covers more than 72 acres and is lined
with orange, mango, and lemon trees. Shots are not only visually exciting,
but challenging for players of all levels. Flamingos is in a location
convenient to both Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta.
Marina Vallarta Golf Club
Located in the prestigious Marina Vallarta area.
The Marina Vallarta Golf Club with 18 championship holes was designed
by the American architect Joe Finger. Its magnificent view of Banderas
Bay and the natural obstacles such as palms, tropical plants, and natural
lagoons along with abundant wildlife, have made it increasingly popular.
Mayan Resorts Golf Nuevo Vallarta
Located on a spectacular piece of oceanfront, and designed by famed architect
Jim Lipe, the 7,000 yard par 71, sits between the Sierra Madre Mountains
and the blue Pacific Ocean.
While the open fairways play well for the recreational golfer, even the
most experienced will be challenged by seven lakes, a river and of course
the ocean. The stretch of holes #13 and #14 makes your round of golf a
very special experience. Hole #13 is a dog-leg par 5 that runs along the
Ameca River, it has a breathtaking view of the green and the Pacific Ocean
in the background. Hole #14 is the signature hole, a 153 yard par 3 that
has the Pacific Ocean on the left side, and a beautiful lake that protects
the front and right side of the green.
Tamarindo Golf Course
The Tamarindo Course has been rated "The Best Hidden Link in the
World" and one of the top 5 courses in Mexico.
Seldom does an architect have the opportunity to design a golf course
on land that has such an abundance of natural features; a test that renowned
golf course designer David Fleming has met beyond all expectations. The
greatest challenge of the design was not to overwork the property, but
to work with what Mother Nature had already given. Where the course exits
the jungle onto three breathtaking ocean front holes, more shots are taken
with cameras than golf clubs. The ocean is seen from nine holes with spectacular
beaches and crashing surf.
Four Seasons Golf Course Punta
Mita
Designed by Jack Nicklas, with a unique 194 yard, par 3 water hazard:
the Pacific Ocean.
When Jack Nicklaus designed the course for the Four Seasons Resort at
Punta Mita, he did something unique. He used a small island, about 175
yards offshore, for one of the greens. It is surrounded by what has to
be the biggest water hazard in the world, the Pacific Ocean, and is the
only natural island green in the world.
This semi- private course, intended for hotel guests of the Four Seasons
Resort and golf club members, is not played as heavily as most public
courses
Isla Navidad Golf Course
Isla Navidad is one of the most lush golf resorts in the world, with twenty
seven holes that offer spectacular ocean, lagoon and mountain views. The
tee boxes are better than 90% of the greens in the U.S., and the fairways
are like an emerald carpet. With an unusually long ocean frontage, its
design is a blend of golfing challenge and beauty. Wind, light, and surface
variance challenge different skill levels on greens that extend into the
lagoon or the mountains. Many holes have a magnificent view of the Pacific
Ocean as their backdrop.
